Recipes for Cooking Tender Pork Chops

Pork chops are best enjoyed when they are tender, but can be slightly difficult to cook perfectly. Here are some easy recipes for you to try at home.
Pork chops are cut from a pig's or hog's hip and usually contain a bone or rib. The most popular pieces are cut from the center loins. They are considered a delicacy and are prepared in various ways in different cuisines. Pork can be baked, grilled, and steamed but the most popular way is frying. Grilling brings out the unique flavor.

Tender Baked Pork Chops

Ingredients:
  • 4 to 5 pork loin chops
  • 2 to 3 fresh tomatoes (chopped)
  • 2 large onions (finely chopped)
  • ½ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1½ teaspoons pepper
  • 1 cup bread crumbs (plain or flavored)
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 2 chicken bouillon cubes
  • ½ cup water
  • Salt to taste
Preparation:
In a bowl beat the eggs and dip the loin chops in it. Now, dip these chops in the bread crumbs until completely covered. Heat some extra virgin olive oil in a shallow frying pan, and fry the chops until light brown. Transfer the browned pork into another shallow pan and top it with chopped onions and tomatoes.
Sprinkle pepper and salt, and mix properly. You can also add the seasoning of your choice. Boil the water in a saucepan and dissolve the chicken bouillon cubes in it. Pour this over the pork chops, cover the pan with an aluminum foil, and bake this dish in a preheated oven at 375 ºF for about 45 minutes.

Oven Cooked Pork Chops

Ingredients:
  • 4 pork chops (trimmed)
  • 1 cup herb seasoned dry bread stuffing mix
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • Salt to taste
Preparation:
In an oven preheated to 425 ºF, melt the butter in a baking pan. In a medium-sized bowl, stir together the egg, milk, pepper, and salt. Dip the pork chops in this egg mixture and coat the pieces with the herb seasoned dry bread stuffing mix. Place these coated pieces in the baking pan with the melted butter. Bake this in the oven for about 10 minutes. Turn the chops over and bake for another 10 minutes until completely cooked.

Grilled Pork Chops

Ingredients:
  • 4 large pork chops
  • 4 green bell peppers (halved and seeded)
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • ½ teaspoon olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon rosemary
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • Salt to taste
Preparation:
Take a medium-sized bowl and mix the herbs, olive oil, honey, and garlic together. Coat the bell peppers with vegetable oil. Spread this mixture over the pork chops, and cook them and the bell peppers together on a preheated grill for about 15 to 20 minutes.

Pork Chops and Stuffing Casserole

Ingredients:
  • 4 pork chops
  • 1 large apple (peeled, cored, and chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 ribs celery (chopped)
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • ½ cup onion (chopped)
  • 1 can condensed cream of celery soup
  • 1¼ cups water
  • ½ teaspoon dried rubbed sage
  • 1 package stove top stuffing mix with herbs
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • Salt to taste
Preparation:
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and cook the pork chops until light brown. Remove the chops from the skillet and place them on a greased baking dish. In the same skillet add some more olive oil and cook the apple, celery, and onion until the onion and celery are tender.
Add the water, sage, and butter, and stir till the butter has melted and the water begins to boil. In a small bowl, mix the condensed cream of celery soup with ¼ cup of water and keep aside. Stir in the stuffing mix and allow it to cook. Pour this mixture and the soup mixture over the pork in the baking dish.
Cover the casserole with an aluminum foil and bake in a preheated oven at 350 ºF for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and then bake for another 15 minutes.
