In general, demi-sec is used to refer to sweet tasting sparkling wines, while brut is for dry or mild sweet wine. With so many brands available in the stores, you may get confused selecting the best one for your party. Here is a list of some sparkling wines that you may prefer to opt for your party:

Brachetto

Prepared from the Italian grape variety Brachetto, this sparkling red wine is known for its berry flavor and heady fragrance. It contains low percentage of alcohol which makes it ideal for people who are not so fond of strong wines.

Fragolino

Fragolino is made from the hybrid grape variety and is famous for its soft strawberry aroma. This is not actually a red wine, rather you can call it a chilled summertime drink.

Asti Spumante

This is one of the oldest known sweet sparkling white wine. An expensive variety, this wine does not require curing and tastes best immediately after purchasing.

Chenin Blanc

Available in many flavors, ranging from dry to mildly sweet and sweet, this sparkling white wine is another preferred option for parties. You will also get softer and less acidic versions of this wine.

Roederer Estate Brut

This California champagne is the best alternative if you are looking out for good taste and low price at the same time. It is available in citrus, pear, and green apple flavors.

Pinot Blanc

Pinot Bianco for the Italians; this is a popularly opted low acidic sparkling white wine. Though the original Pinot blanc of California is dry, you will get a broader range of flavors in this brand, including sweet wines.

Korbel Sparkling Natural Chardonnay

It is a relatively new brand of sparkling white wine, remarkable for its sweet flavor and affordable price. Some people may not like it because of its extra sweetness.

Alita

This variety is soft with about 10 percent alcohol concentration. Having a fruity aroma, its flavor is a combination of various grape varieties. You will also find dry wines in this.
It is often said that red wines go well with the recipes made from red meat, while white wines are best served with white meat dishes. However, you do not have to be so strict while purchasing the wines.
