  • 1⅓ cups sugar
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 (8-ounce) packet sour cream
  • Confectioner's sugar for topping

Directions for Preparation

Position a baking rack in the center of oven and preheat it to 350° F. To start with the pound cake recipe, prepare the baking pan (9x13x2) by light buttering and lining the bottom with a parchment paper. In a large mixing bowl, sift and combine the dry ingredients, flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and baking powder.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 6 large eggs
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • 2¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Juice and zest of two fresh lemons

Directions for Preparation

This is another easy pound cake recipe from scratch. Preheat the oven to 325° F. Lightly butter and flour a large bundt pan or a regular baking pan. In a mixing bowl, whisk together butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in the eggs (one at a time), mixing well after every addition. Stir in baking soda and baking powder.
Add flour (1 cup at a time) and combine well for even mixing. Then, add the remaining ingredients, sour cream, vanilla, lemon zest, and juice. Stir lightly until blended, and pour this lemon flavored batter into the baking pan. Bake it for 1 hour and insert the cake tester to check if it comes out clean or not.
