Marian K
Sausage balls are quick and easy to prepare, without compromising on the taste. They can be modified to suit the occasion or taste. Here are a few simple recipes on how to make them.
The great thing about sausages is that you can add them to a salad or to a main course dish. You can enjoy them between slices of bread, or serve them as appetizers at a casual get together. In fact, some save the leftover grease to flavor other dishes that have no pork in them!
Ground sausage is even more versatile; it can be included in many more preparations. Sausage balls are one of the favorite snacks of people as they are a perfect blend of sausages and cheese. Sausage ball appetizers can be eaten or served at any time of the day, and you can whip them up within no time.

Sausage Cheese Balls

Ingredients
  • ⅛ tbsp. pepper
  • 1 lb ground sausage
  • 4 cups sharp cheddar (grated)
  • 3 cups baking mix
For the Dip
  • 1 tbsp. mustard
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
Directions
Before you begin, preheat the oven to 375 °F. Grease a baking sheet with butter or a squirt of vegetable oil cooking spray. Mix the sausage, cheese, and baking mix together in a large bowl. It is recommended that you use your fingers to work the mixture.
Next, coat your palms with a little oil, and roll portions of the mixture between them to form 1'' balls. The mixture will be crumbly, so try squeezing it. If you need a binding agent, add a little egg white to the mixture. Place the balls on the baking sheet, with space between them, and bake for 18-20 minutes or until they turn golden brown.
Halfway through cooking, turn them to prevent sticking. Stir the mayo and mustard together to make the dip. Serve it with the balls.

  • 2¾ c. self-rising flour
