Sangria Recipes with Brandy

Serving sangria during a party at home is a good idea. Let's see some sangria recipes made with brandy.

Sangria is a traditional Spanish fruit punch made by mixing different types of fruits, soda, and alcohol. The Spanish name 'Sangria' means bleeding and is called so because of the red color of the drink.
This was because earlier Sangria drinks were made only with red wine. Later, people also started using white wine while making Sangria, and these drinks are called Sangria Blanca.
Sangria can be made in a variety of ways and every part of Spain has a different Sangria to offer. They are consumed with food and the type of Sangria depends on the food that is being served. The best thing about them is that they are simple and can be easily made at home. They can be made sweet, tangy, spicy, and strong according to one's preferences.

How to Make Sangria with Brandy

Wine is the most important ingredient for Sangria and hence, one should opt for a good quality wine while making one. Small amount of brandy used in making Sangria can enhance the flavor of the drink.

Simple Brandy Sangria

Ingredients
  • 1 bottle red wine
  • 1 shot brandy
  • 1 lemon (cut into wedges)
  • 2 cups club soda or ginger ale
  • 1 orange (cut into wedges)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
Directions
Take the red wine in a large pitcher, and set aside. Remove the seeds from the orange and lemon wedges and juice them into another bowl. Transfer this juice into the pitcher containing the wine along with the orange and lemon wedges. Add in the brandy followed by the sugar, and stir for a while.
Place the pitcher in the refrigerator, and allow it to chill for the whole night. Before serving the drink, add club soda or ginger ale according to your preference.

Red Wine Sangria with Brandy

Ingredients
  • 1 bottle red wine (750 ml)
  • 6 tablespoons lemonade concentrate
  • ⅓ cup sugar
  • 8 ounces peaches (sliced)
  • ¾ cup peach flavored brandy
Directions
In a large pitcher, take the red wine and add the lemonade and sugar to it. When sugar dissolves, add the peach brandy and stir. Add some peaches to the drink, and place it in the refrigerator. Also, refrigerate remaining peaches in a separate bowl overnight. The next day, serve it by adding the frozen peaches which will act as natural ice cubes.

White Sangria with Brandy

Ingredients
  • 2 bottles white wine
  • ½ cup brandy
  • 1 cup pear juice
  • 2 peaches (sliced into wedges)
  • ¼ cup orange liqueur
  • 1 club soda (chilled)
  • ½ pound white grapes, seedless
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 apricots (sliced into wedges)
  • ½ cup pear (sliced)
Directions
In a large vessel, take the pear juice, orange liqueur, and sugar. When the sugar fully dissolves, add the white wine and brandy to it. Add fruits to this mixture and mix till all the ingredients are well combined. Cover the drink, and chill it in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours. While serving, add the club soda and a few pieces of ice cubes to it.

Sangria with Brandy and Orange Juice

Ingredients
  • 1 bottle dry red wine (750 ml)
  • 4 ounces brandy
  • ⅓ cup orange juice
  • 1 orange (sliced into round shapes)
  • 2 cups carbonated water
  • ⅓ cup lemonade concentrate (frozen)
  • 1 lemon (sliced into round shapes)
  • 4 ounces triple sec
  • 8 maraschino cherries
  • 1 lime (sliced into round shapes)
  • ¼ cup lemon juice
  • ¼ cup white sugar
Directions
Take the red wine and brandy in a large container or bowl, and add the orange juice, lemonade concentrate, triple sec, lemon juice, and sugar to it. Stir these ingredients together till the sugar melts completely. Add the maraschino cherries as well as the slices of orange, lemon, and lime into it.
Stir again and place the container in the refrigerator overnight. Add the soda and ice cubes to the drink, just before serving.
