Root Beer Float Cake

Ingredients
  • Root Beer, 2 cups
  • Cocoa Powder, 1 cup
  • Unsalted Butter, ½ cup
  • Granulated Sugar, 1¼ cup
  • Salt, 1 tsp.
  • All-purpose Flour, 2 cups
  • Dark Brown Sugar, ½ cup
  • Baking Soda, 1¼ tsp.
  • Eggs, 2
  • Cocoa, for frosting (melted 60%)
  • Unsalted Butter, 1 stick (softened for frosting)
Method
The oven must be preheated to 235° F. Coat the inside of a Bundt pan with cooking spray. Heat the beer in a saucepan. Add ⅓ cup cocoa powder and butter to the pan and heat till the latter melts completely. Add the sugar and keep whisking till it dissolves completely. Turn off the heat.
Take another large bowl and whisk the flour, baking powder, soda, and salt in it. Beat the eggs in a smaller bowl. Add these eggs to the cocoa powder batter. Also add the whisked flour to it. If the batter appears lumpy, make it smooth by beating.
Pour the batter into the Bundt pan and bake it for around 45 minutes. Let the cake cool once it gets baked completely. While the cake cools, you can make the frosting. Using a hand mixer you can mix softened butter and ⅔ cup of the cocoa powder. Add the chocolate, salt, and powdered sugar to this. Mix till it becomes smooth. Spread this mixture on the cake and serve it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
These recipes make a perfect drink and a dessert as well. Enjoy this wonderful treat in the summer season.
