According to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), pork should be cooked to an internal temperature of 160º F. The temperature may vary in case of bony meat and the type of recipe. But pork should never be overcooked and the temperature should not exceed 185º F. Pork with bones is cooked faster than boneless.

How to Cook a Pork Roast

Take special care of the cooking time and temperature of the pork roast so as to get the best taste. Following steps will help you to cooking a juicy pork roast.
Ingredients
  • Pork meat
  • 1 Teaspoon of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of combination of rosemary, sage, thyme and oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon of ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
Method
First of all get all the ingredients. Now set the oven at 450º F and leave it for preheating. The pork piece will have a layer of fat on at least one side.
Do not remove that layer as it will help in keeping the pork moist and juicy. Now take the olive oil as mentioned in the required ingredients and mix the combination of spices in it. Add salt and pepper to the mixture and mix it well. Now rub this mixture over the pork on all the sides and then place over the roasting pan.
Place the roasting pan in the oven and set it for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, reset the oven to 250º F and wait for nearly 30 minutes. Then check the internal temperature of the pork with the meat thermometer. Let it cross the 150º F mark. Now take out the meat from the oven and cover it up with a tin foil. Leave it for 15 minutes.
This will increase the meat temperature by 5º F. After 15 minutes cut slices of meat and serve according to choice. You can use the dripped juice from the pork in the further preparation as it will enhance the taste.
