Oranges are a good source of vitamin C, B, and A, containing flavonoids that help prevent many diseases and illnesses. It has dietary fiber, so consuming just one orange a day provides ample fiber intake.
One should include the white, thread-like portion (albedo or pericarp) of an orange since that contains the highest amount of bioflavonoids and anti-cancer agents. It also contains important substances like iodine, folic acid, pectin, potassium, calcium, sodium, manganese and iron.
Oranges have to be eaten moderately since the citric acid can attack the calcium in one's teeth and bones over a period of time. Orange peels (rind) contain a lot of oil that can hamper the effects of vitamin A. You'll find that the recipes can be included in desserts for cocktail parties, picnics, or even when you're in the mood for something sweet and creamy to go with your fruit salad.

Marshmallow-Orange Dip

Marshmallow crème gives the dip a smooth, creamy texture that is unreal in every sense of the word.

What You'll Need

  • Four tablespoons of orange juice
  • One teaspoon of grated orange rind
  • 7 ounces of marshmallow crème
  • 7 ounces of Philadelphia cream cheese

Method of Preparation

First, grate the orange rind into a blender on medium spin and add the orange juice to it. Use room temperature oranges or rub it over a countertop to encourage more juice to escape. Use a juicer to make sure you get it all out.
Fold in your marshmallow crème and cream cheese till the concoction's consistency turns thick. Refrigerate the mixture and then use it as you please as a dessert accompaniment or toss it about in a fruit salad till all of it is lightly coated with the mixture.

Fluffy Orange Dip

To get that nice fluffy look and a wholesome mouthful of orange dip, whipped cream is a key ingredient when it comes to putting it together.

What You'll Need

  • A pinch of cinnamon
  • 7 ounces of marshmallow crème
  • 8 ounces of cream cheese (softened)
  • I fluid ounce of orange liqueur or marmalade
  • 2 dollops of whipped cream (sweetened)

Method of Preparation

Like the above recipe, mix all the ingredients, but use a bowl this time, so that you can gently beat the mixture together when you put your whipped cream in, to avoid releasing air. Mix the ingredients well and pop the mix into the refrigerator for a chilled dip.

Mandarin Orange Dip

Mandarins are the most delicious from the members of the orange family, with tangerines following close at its heels. To make this dip, we get experimenting with an array of ingredients that are going to keep others and yourself coming back for more.

What You'll Need

  • 4 ounces of cream cheese (softened)
  • ½ a cup of powdered sugar
  • 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
  • Approximately 8 raspberries
  • One whole mandarin
  • ½ a teaspoon of shredded orange rind
  • 1 and ½ tablespoons of tukmaria seeds (gelatin-based seeds)

Method of Preparation

Using a big bowl, drop the cream cheese, sugar, butter, vanilla essence, raspberries, mandarin, and shredded orange rind into it. Then, pour this mix into a blender on a medium speed setting or start and stop it every 3 seconds.
Check on your mixture to make sure that everything is broken down into a nice thick creamy mold. Keep it in the fridge and let it sit for about an hour. Add the tukmaria last and mix it well. You can have it as a frozen dessert or add strawberries to it for a delightful treat.
