Ingredients
  • Fresh strawberries, 4 cups
  • Sugar, 5 cups
  • Water, 4 cups
Procedure
Clean the strawberries with plain water and finely chop them into pieces. In the meanwhile, heat water in a skillet and add sugar to it. Bring it to boil on a medium to lower heat. When the sugar starts to dissolve, add the sliced strawberries to the skillet and bring the mixture to boil for about 5 minutes.
Take the skillet off the heat and let the strawberries steep in the sugar syrup for about 10 - 12 minutes. Once the mixer cools down at room temperature, strain it in a syrup container. You can store this syrup in the refrigerator. Do not throw away the strained strawberries as you may use them as a topping for toasts and waffles.

Strawberry Syrup Sauce Recipe

Some people like to feel the texture of the strawberry pieces in the syrup. So, in that case, use the following recipe for strawberry syrup.

Ingredients
  • Fresh strawberries, 2 cups
  • Sugar, ⅛ cup
  • Cornstarch, 1 tsp
  • Lemon juice, 1 - 2 drops
Procedure
Clean the strawberries with plain water and finely chop them into halves or cubes. Put the chopped strawberries in a skillet and add sugar in it. Heat the skillet on medium to lower heat. Since the water content of strawberries is high, you don't need to use water separately.
Once the strawberry mixture starts boiling, you can add cornstarch to it. However, make sure that cornstarch gets completely dissolved without any clots. Continue stirring the mixture and bring it to boil for about 2 minutes. Add lemon juice and stir it well. Your strawberry syrup sauce is ready!

Strawberry Syrup for Cheesecake
