Most cocktails have several variations, which is what makes them interesting and confusing. Since, we are talking about cocktails and mentioned the Kamikaze, there are a few things you ought to know about this drink before you get down to mixing it.
A Kamikaze is a careful combination of a Margarita and Daiquiri. To simplify it further, it could also be called the plain Gimlet. But it is the proportion of the ingredients in it that makes it different from all three.
The International Bartenders Association suggests this drink has to be served in a classic cocktail glass. But hardcore party goers know that rules are meant to be broken if you've got the proportions right! So, here are a few ways to make your own kamikaze drink at home to host a party that is truly in high spirits.

Classic Kamikaze cocktail

Ingredients
  • 1 ounce vodka
  • 1 ounce lime juice
  • 1 ounce triple sec
  • A lime wedge for garnish
Directions
  • Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice cubes.
  • Shake this well.
  • Strain the mixture in a chilled cocktail glass.
  • Garnish or decorate the glass with a lime wedge.

Kamikaze cocktail with Sugar syrup

For Sugar Syrup
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
For the Drink
  • 1½ ounce fresh lime juice
  • 1½ ounce vodka
  • 1½ ounce triple sec
  • ¾ ounce simple syrup
Directions
  • Boil the sugar and water for about 2-3 minutes till the sugar dissolves completely. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Fill half the cocktail shaker with ice.
  • Add the remaining ingredients, and shake well till the mixture chills completely.
  • Strain into a martini glass and garnish with a lime wedge.

Kamikaze shot

Ingredients
  • 1¼ ounce Smirnoff No. 21
  • 1¼ ounce triple sec
  • 1¼ ounce lime juice
Directions
  • Add the ingredients to a cocktail shaker.
  • Shake them well.
  • Pour them in a shot glass and drink up!

Blue Kamikaze cocktail

Ingredients
  • 1 ounce lime juice
  • 1 ounce Blue Curacao liqueur
  • 1 ounce vodka
  • Salt
  • Ice
Directions
  • Dip the rim of the glass in salt, and place it in the fridge for sometime.
  • Fill the shaker halfway with ice.
  • Add all the ingredients and shake well.
  • Strain the chilled drink into a martini glass and serve chilled.

Raspberry Kamikaze cocktail

Ingredients
  • 1½ ounce triple sec
  • 1½ ounce raspberry vodka
  • 1½ ounce Chambord Raspberry liqueur
  • Ice
Directions
  • Dip the rim of the glass in salt, and place it in the fridge for sometime.
  • Fill the shaker halfway with ice.
  • Add the ingredients and shake well.
  • Strain the chilled drink into a martini glass.
So, these were 5 versions of a Kamikaze cocktail that you can create. All they require are some basic ingredients that are readily available at any bar. They say, the Kamikaze was introduced back in 1974 at a lounge named Eliot by Liam, the bartender.
It was his version of the Vodka Gimlet, which was generally served in a beer mug. However, it was a supposed patron of this drink who popularized it through advertisements. However, by then, the drink was renamed as Kamikaze. The patron was believed to be a Smirnoff representative.
