Firstly, you have to make a dry rub, then the marination, and finally comes cooking baby back ribs. So the total duration required for the preparation depends on how much time each stage takes. So, let's move on to learn the best way to cook these ribs.

Ingredients

  • Baby back ribs, 2 racks
  • Granulated onion, 2 tbsp.
  • Granulated garlic, 1 tbsp.
  • Liquid smoke, 3 tsp.
  • Kosher salt, 1 tsp.
  • Sweet smoked paprika, 1 tsp.
  • Fresh ground black pepper, 1 tsp.

Procedure

Step 1
Start by preparing the dry rub. Take a bowl and mix granulated onion, granulated onion, granulated garlic, kosher salt, paprika, and pepper. Keep this bowl aside. This won't take much time, once you have the ingredients ready.
Step 2
Now take the ribs, remove the silver skin from the back of the ribs, and thoroughly apply and rub the liquid smoke over it. Sprinkle dry rub prepared above on the top and bottom surface of each rack.
Step 3
Now, you have to wrap these in a foil. Spray cooking spray on the foil to keep it from sticking to the ribs. Now, you can either wrap each rack separately with foil, else wrap the entire tray with foil. Next, place these in the refrigerator for proper marination. Keep them for at least 2 - 3 hours; however, letting the ribs marinate for 8 - 10 hours or overnight is best.
Step 4
Remove the racks from the refrigerator and unwrap them. Bringing them to room temperature will take about an hour. Place them on a cookie sheet and cover it with foil. Preheat the oven between 225 - 275ºF. The approximate cooking time will vary slightly depending upon the type of oven. Remove the barbecue sauce from the refrigerator.
Step 5
Now, place the rack in the oven and bake for about 2 - 2½ hours. It will be tender enough but you can cook for a longer duration if required. If you want to cook the ribs for more time, first remove them from oven, remove the foil and wait for 10 minutes. Now, add barbecue sauce to the baby back ribs. Apply it properly on each side. Once you are done, place it again in the oven and allow it to bake for 15 - 30 minutes more.
Finally, the baby back ribs are done! You can now serve them hot with your favorite side dishes. Yes, don't forget to add more barbecue sauce to it. Many prefer slow-cooked ribs, but believe me, this is the best way to have an extremely tasty dish. If you apply the dry rub to the ribs about 15 - 24 hours before you cook them, it is going to have the best taste. So, try out this recipe and enjoy eating the flavorful baby back ribs soon!
