So if you have dinner or lunch planned which requires you to make hot crab dip, here are some recipes that will make a whole lot of difference to your meal.

Crab Dip - Old Bay Style

Ingredients
  • 1½ cups cheddar cheese, shredded and divided
  • 1½ teaspoons Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 lb lump crab meat
  • ¼ teaspoon McCormick ground mustard
  • ¾ cup mayonnaise
  • Assorted crackers and pita chips
Procedure
Preheat the oven at 350ºF. In a blender, mix in half of the cheddar cheese, mayonnaise, Old Bay seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, and ground mustard. Blend all the ingredients (except crab meat) properly and place in a bowl. Mix in the crab meat now.
Take 1-quart casserole and spoon the mixture in it. Sprinkle rest of the remaining cheddar cheese in and a little bit of Old Bay seasoning. Place the casserole in the oven for about 15 minutes till the dip starts to bubble. Remove from the oven and serve hot with some assorted crackers and pita chips.

Hot Crab Dip w/Cream Cheese

Ingredients
  • 3 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 2 green onions, sliced, greens included
  • 1, 8 oz package of cream cheese
  • 1 cup of fresh lump crab meat
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 tablespoon horseradish
  • ½ teaspoon of Tabasco
  • ½ cup slivered almonds
  • ⅓ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Crackers or thinly sliced baguette
Procedure
Preheat the oven at 350ºF. In a blender, mix cream cheese, lemon juice, onions, fresh parsley, mayonnaise, and water. Blend everything properly and then add Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco sauce, and horseradish in. Gently fold everything together with a spoon. Then mix in the silvered almonds and crab meat.
Place the mixture into a casserole and bake for at least 20 minutes. Once the surface starts to turn golden brown, bring the casserole out and serve hot with crackers or thinly sliced baguette.

Hot Crab Dip w/ Sour Cream

Ingredients
  • 2 cups crab meat
  • 2 cans artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 1 round loaf sourdough bread
  • 1 package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 cup white Cheddar cheese
  • ½ teaspoon dried dill, for taste
  • ½ cup capers, drained
  • ½ teaspoon Old Bay seasoning, for taste
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Black pepper, for taste
Procedure
Preheat the oven at 400ºF. Take a big bowl to combine crab meat, cream cheese, sour cream, buttermilk, Monterey Jack cheese, mayonnaise, cheddar cheese, capers, artichoke hearts, black pepper, garlic, and dill. Mix everything properly and place the mixture in a casserole.
Sprinkle generous amounts of Parmesan cheese and Old Bay seasoning. Place the casserole in the oven and bake for about 15 - 20 minutes. Once the cheese starts to bubble from the sides, take the casserole out and serve with hollow bread loaf.

Hot Crab Shrimp Dip

Ingredients
  • 8 oz chive and onion cream cheese
  • 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons white wine
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 cup imitation crab meat, cooked
  • 1 cup cooked shrimp, chopped
  • 1 loaf sourdough round bread
  • 1 tablespoon hot pepper sauce
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
Procedure
Preheat the oven at 400ºF. Combine chive and onion cream cheese, hot pepper sauce, Worcestershire sauce, fresh dill, and white wine in a blender. Blend properly and fold in the cooked imitation meat and shrimp.
Place the mixture in a casserole and sprinkle generous amounts of Parmesan cheese. Keep the casserole in the oven and bake for about 20 minutes. You can also toast the sourdough bread by placing them on a baking sheet and into the oven for few minutes. Brush some olive oil on each side and serve hot with the hot crab shrimp dip.
