Taco is a wonderful Mexican food made up of a wheat or corn tortilla wrapped around yummy filling. Tacos are among some of the most versatile foods that can be made from innumerable fillings. If you like meat, you can fill the tortillas with pork, ground beef, fish, etc.
Whereas, if you are a vegan you can opt for fresh vegetables. The filling used in tacos is seasoned with some mix and sauce. Recipes to Make Tacos at Home

Recipe #1: Italian Tacos

Ingredients
  • Ground beef - 1 pound
  • Tomato pasta sauce - 1 jar (16 ounces)
  • Taco shells (heated) - 16
  • Mozzarella cheese (shredded) - 3 cups
  • Italian sausage - ½ pound
  • Dried Italian seasoning - 1 tablespoon
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
Procedure
To prepare this recipe, take a large heavy skillet and add ground beef and Italian sausage to it. Combine them properly and cook the mixture over medium heat. Once the mixture becomes evenly brown, drain off the excess grease and season the meat with Italian seasoning.
Take a saucepan and heat the pasta sauce in it over medium heat. When the pasta sauce attains a warm temperature, add sugar to it and stir the mixture. Now, take the taco shells, fill them with the meat mixture, pour the pasta sauce over the meat mixture and top them with shredded mozzarella cheese.

Recipe #2: Avocado Tacos

Ingredients
  • Avocados - 3
  • Onions (diced) - ¼ cup
  • Garlic salt - ¼ teaspoon
  • Corn tortillas - 12 (6 inch)
  • Fresh cilantro leaves (finely chopped) - 1 bunch
  • Jalapeño pepper sauce for taste
Procedure
First peel, pit and mash the avocados in a small bowl. Then preheat the oven to 325 degree Fahrenheit. In another medium-sized bowl, combine mashed avocados, garlic salt and diced onions. Take a large baking sheet and arrange the corn tortillas over it. Place these tortillas in the preheated oven for about 2 to 5 minutes. Then spread the avocado mixture over the heated tortillas and garnish them with chopped cilantro leaves and jalapeño pepper sauce.

Recipe #3: Lentil Tacos

Ingredients
  • Onion (finely chopped) - 1 cup
  • Garlic clove (minced) - 1
  • Canola oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Dried lentils (rinsed) - 1 teaspoon
  • Chili powder - 1 tablespoon
  • Cumin (ground) - 2 teaspoons
  • Dried oregano - 1 teaspoon
  • Chicken broth - 2½ cups
  • Salsa - 1 cup
  • Taco shells - 12
  • Lettuce - 1½ cups (shredded)
  • Chopped fresh tomato - 1 cup
  • Cheddar cheese (shredded, reduced-fat) - 1½ cups
  • Fat free sour cream - 6 tablespoons
Procedure
Take a large nonstick skillet and add canola oil to it. Heat the oil for a while and add onion and garlic to it. Sauté the mixture to attain a tender texture. Then add chili powder, dried oregano and lentils to this mixture and cook the mixture for about 1 minute. After that, add the chicken broth and bring the mixture to boil.
Cover the saucepan, reduce the heat and simmer the mixture for about 25 to 30 minutes to tender the lentils. Then, uncover the saucepan and cook for 8 more minutes to thicken the mixture. Then slightly mash the lentils with the back of a spoon and then add salsa to it. Now, spoon about ¼ cup of this lentil mixture into each taco shell and top each of them with lettuce, cheese and sour cream.
