We all know about the importance of a healthy diet. Yet, we often find ourselves being a victim to temptations! How much ever we may grumble about fast food like burgers, french fries, and hot dogs, it is difficult to resist such scrumptious food items.
It's possible to avoid binging on such stuff during the week. But on the weekends, this is surely a different story. Hamburgers are in demand amongst all kinds of fast food. However, the taste of a yummy, homemade hamburger cannot be compared to anything else.

Recipe #1

Ingredients
  • Hamburger buns, 4
  • Lettuce leaves, 8
  • Kosher salt, 2 tsp.
  • Medium-sized tomatoes (thickly sliced), 2
  • Freshly ground black pepper, 2 tsp.
  • Ground beef (preferably chuck), 2 lb
Preparation

Preheat the grill to medium high. Then, lightly season the meat with some salt and pepper. Now, shape it into 4 patties and place them on the grill. Let them cook for 6 minutes on each side or until done. Place these patties between the buns. You can also toast the buns. Use the lettuce and tomatoes as toppings. Add some ketchup to the burger, as well.

Recipe #2

Ingredients
  • Ground beef, 1 lb
  • Large onion (diced), 1
  • Ketchup, ½ cup
  • Packed brown sugar, ½ cup
  • Egg, 1
  • Oats (quick cooking), ½ cup
  • Hamburger buns, 4
  • Salt and pepper to taste
Preparation

Mix all the ingredients in a medium-sized bowl―ketchup, oats, egg, ground beef, brown sugar, and onion. Sprinkle the mixture with some salt and pepper. Once done, shape it into patties. Place a skillet over medium heat. Fry the patties on both the sides, for at least 4 minutes each or as required. Place them between the buns, along with some lettuce, cheese slices, and ketchup, and serve.

Recipe #3

Ingredients
  • Pork sausage, 1 lb
  • Bacon, 4 slices
  • Parmesan cheese (grated), ¼ cup
  • Pepper, ½ tsp.
  • Garlic powder, ½ tsp.
  • Steak sauce, 2 tbsp.
  • Hamburger buns, 8
  • Onions (chopped), ¼ cup
  • Lean ground beef, 1 lb
  • Mushrooms (drained; diced), 1 can
Preparation

First, let the bacon cook till it turns crisp. Once done, drain it but reserve 2 tablespoons of the grease. Sauté the onions in this grease. Next, crumble the bacon and mix it with the mushrooms. Transfer this mixture to a skillet and set it aside. Take a large bowl and mix―steak sauce, pepper, garlic powder, cheese, beef, and pork―together.
Shape this mixture into 16 patties. Spoon the bacon mixture over 8 patties and place the remaining patties on top of these. Gently press them to seal, and grill evenly on both the sides. Place them between the toasted buns, top with lettuce leaves, some ketchup, and serve.
