Grilled catfish is a delicacy that is enjoyed all over the world. Not just because it is delicious, but because it is available almost everywhere in the world! So, everywhere in the world, people have come up with a grilled catfish recipe in their local cooking style using local herbs.

Easy Grilled Catfish Recipes

Lemon Grilled Catfish

Ingredients
  • Catfish fillets about 5 to 7 ounces each, 6
  • Garlic crushed, 1 clove
  • Unsalted butter softened, ½ cup
  • Lemon pepper, 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice, 1 tablespoon
For Lemon-Parsley Relish
  • Lemon juice, ½ cup
  • Onion finely minced, ½ cup
  • Dried parsley flakes, ½ cup
Method

1. Prepare the grill. Combine the lemon juice, butter, and garlic in a bowl and mix well.

2. Rinse the fish and pat it dry with paper napkins. Dab the butter mixture on the fish evenly on both the sides of the fillet and sprinkle some lemon pepper.
3. Put the fish on the greased rack of the grill. The fish is ready when you can see that on inserting a fork, it gets a flaky texture.

4. While the fish is being grilled, combine all the ingredients of the relish in a bowl and stir.

5. Serve the fish with the relish. You can also eat it with grilled potatoes or steamed rice.

Grilled Jamaican Catfish

Ingredients
  • Catfish fillets, 4
  • Green onions, finely chopped, 2
  • Jalapeño pepper (seeded and chopped), 1
  • Garlic clove (minced), 1
  • Brown sugar, 2 tablespoons
  • Worcestershire sauce, 2 tablespoons
  • White wine vinegar, 2 tablespoons
  • Fresh ginger (minced), 1 tablespoon
  • Allspice, 1 teaspoon
  • Dried thyme, ½ teaspoon
  • Salt, ¼ teaspoon
Method

1. Preheat the grill and combine all the ingredients except the fish in a bowl.

2. Coat the fish evenly in half the marinade and let it sit for 5 - 10 min before putting it on the grill.

3. Lightly oil the grate and put the fish in the grill and allow it to cook for 5 min, lightly brushing marinade on both the sides of the fillets. Cook for 7 min.

Greek Grilled Catfish

Ingredients
  • Catfish fillets (8 ounces each), 6
  • Feta cheese (crumbled), 4 ounces
  • Olive oil, 2 tablespoons
  • Mint (dried), 1 tablespoon
  • Greek seasoning to taste
Method

1. On both the sides of the fillet, sprinkle Greek seasoning, feta cheese, and dried mint.

2. Smear olive oil on each of the pieces. Roll the fillets and pin them with toothpicks.

3. Then, grill these fillets over medium heat for 20 minutes.

4. They are ready when the fish acquires a flaky texture upon trying to pierce it.

Grilled Catfish with Ginger Sauce

Ingredients

  • Catfish fillets, 4
  • Dry white wine, ¼ cup
  • Olive oil
  • Basil
  • Parsley
  • Oregano
  • Melted butter
To make the Ginger Sauce, you will need
  • Strawberries (sliced), 6
  • Green onions (sliced), 2
  • Mushrooms (sliced), ½ pound
  • Prepared ginger sauce, ¼ cup
  • Sherry, ¼ cup
  • Butter, 3 tablespoons
Method

1. To make the ginger sauce, you will need to first sauté the onions and mushrooms in butter.

2. Ensure that both the onions and mushrooms are sliced into very thin pieces.

3. After they are sautéed, add the sherry, strawberries, and ginger sauce.
4. For the fish, you have to first prepare the marinade of olive oil, basil, parsley, oregano, wine, and butter.

5. Rub this marinade onto the fish. Place the marinated fish fillets in the middle of the grill for about 20 minutes until they are ready.

6. Consider the fish ready once it becomes flaky. Once ready, serve it with ginger sauce.
