Filet Mignon Cooking Time

Puja Lalwani
To be able to thoroughly enjoy filet mignon prepared at home, knowledge of the exact cooking time and temperature is extremely essential. Here is the information about the exact time required to prepare this fancy meal.
Filet mignon literally means a 'dainty' cut of steak from beef tenderloin. Many people confuse the tenderloin with the short loin. Tenderloin is the meat which is obtained from the loin muscle on each side of the vertebral column, and a filet mignon is a cut from this area.
Ideally, a filet mignon is 1 inch in diameter and its thickness ranges between 1 to 2 inches. However, the diameter can also vary and be about 2 to 3 inches. It is an extremely tender cut of meat, and thus preparing it does not take a very long time. It is however not very rich in flavors, and is therefore accompanied by a sauce.
The cooking time for this meat depends on the size, thickness, and how you enjoy it: rare, medium, or well done. Take a look at how long it takes to prepare filet mignon as per your preference.
