Easy Orange Chicken Recipe

Orange chicken is a Chinese American dish that consists of fried chicken, coated with egg, flour, or spices, that is cooked in orange juice. This is a popular dinner menu in America, and is also referred to as "orange peel, or tangerine chicken". The dish can be cooked in various ways, and here are some simple and easy recipes.

Ingredients

• Olive Oil, 2 tbsp.
• Butter, 2 tbsp.
• Orange Juice, ⅓ cup
• Green Onions, 1 tbsp. (chopped)
• Cashews, ¼ cup (chopped)

• All-purpose Flour, ¼ cup
• Hoisin Sauce, ⅓ cup
• Mandarin Oranges, 1 can (11 oz.; drained)
• Chicken Breast Halves, 4 (skinless and boneless; pounded to ¼ inch thickness)

Procedure
Take a small bowl and add all-purpose flour to it. Then, dredge the chicken breasts in the flour to coat them lightly with the flour. In a medium-sized skillet, combine olive oil and butter, and heat the mixture over medium heat. Then sauté the breasts till they lose their pink color and the juices start to come out.

Remove the skillet from heat and keep it aside. Remove the breasts from the skillet, and add hoisin sauce and orange juice to the skillet. Then add green onions, cashews, and mandarin oranges to it. Combine them properly and then add the breasts to the skillet. Cook them until all the ingredients get combined properly, and serve hot.

Ingredients

• Egg, 1
• Orange Juice, ⅓ cup
• Orange Peel, 1 tbsp. (grated)
• Seasoned Stuffing Mix, 1 cup (crushed)
• Margarine, 6 tbsp.
• Chicken Breasts, 8 (skinless and boneless)
• Salt, 1 tsp.
• Orange Slices (few)
• Paprika, 1½ tsp.

Procedure
In a medium-sized shallow bowl, beat the egg in orange juice. In another bowl, add orange peel, stuffing mix, paprika, and salt. Combine the ingredients properly. Then dip the chicken breasts first in the egg mixture, and then, in the spicy mixture. Coat them well from all the sides. Take a 9x13-inch baking pan and pour margarine into it.

Then add the coated breasts to the baking pan, and place the pan in the oven at 375°F for 45 minutes. Turn the breasts in between, when baking, say after 20 or 25 minutes. Garnish the dish with orange slices, and serve hot.

• Onion, 1 (large and thinly sliced)
• Zest of one Orange
• Cumin, ½ tsp.
• Olive Oil, 2 tsp.
• Chicken Breast, 1 lb. (cubed)
• Cornstarch, 1 tbsp.
• Broccoli Florets, 3 cups

• Curry Powder, 1 tsp.
• Salt, ½ tsp.
• Ground Ginger, ½ tsp.
• Orange Juice, 2 cups
• Bell Pepper, 1 (orange-colored and chopped)
• Water Chestnuts, 1 can (sliced)

Procedure
To prepare it, take a large skillet and heat it over medium-high heat. Then add olive oil and onions to the heated skillet. Sauté onion lightly, and then put chicken breast cubes into the skillet. Cook them to attain brown color. In a small bowl, combine cornstarch, salt, ginger, and cumin. Pour this mixture into the chicken mixture in the skillet.

Then add the orange juice to it, and cook it until the liquid thickens and bubbles are seen. After that, add all the vegetables, and cook the mixture until the veggies become little crispy. In the end, add orange zest and stir the mixture thoroughly. Your dish is ready, and you can also serve it with rice or noodles.
