Martinis are beverages that add life to any party, be it a wedding, a birthday, or just a casual get-together with friends. You can make your own martini using ingredients of your choice. A martini recipe with a variation will surely be a welcome change. Here are some cucumber martini recipes that you can try and serve to your guests the next time you are hosting a party.

Cucumber Gin Martini

Ingredients
  • 1 medium-sized cucumber
  • 2 cups gin
  • 3-5 tablespoons dry vermouth
  • 1½ tablespoons sugar syrup (optional)
  • Crushed ice or ice cubes
Directions:
Peel and cut the cucumber into thick slices of approximately ¼ inch and place them in a pitcher. Pour the gin with this and place the pitcher in a refrigerator with a lid on it. Let the mixture stand overnight; you can keep it for a couple of days more, as the longer the cucumber soaks in the gin, the better your cocktail will be.
Remove the pitcher from the refrigerator and strain the contents into a martini shaker, leaving behind the cucumber slices. Add the vermouth, sugar syrup, and crushed ice, shake vigorously until the ingredients are mixed properly. Pour the martini into glasses, and float a cherry or olive before serving.

Cucumber Basil Martini

Ingredients
  • 1 cucumber
  • 2 sprigs fresh basil
  • Crushed ice
  • 1 cup vodka
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger (grated)
  • 1½ teaspoons fresh nutmeg (grated)
Directions:
Peel the cucumber and cut half of the cucumber into thin slices. You can also leave the cucumber peel on if you prefer it that way. Transfer these slices into a martini shaker. Wash the basil leaves thoroughly and add them to the shaker. Grate the ginger and nutmeg into the shaker.
Now, with the help of a pestle, slightly pound the ingredients so that the flavors of the ingredients combine. Pour half of the vodka into the shaker and top it with crushed ice. Shake the drink till all the ingredients are mixed together.
Pour the remaining vodka and crushed ice in the shaker and shake vigorously again. Pour the cocktail into tall martini glasses, garnish it with a thick cucumber slice. Float a couple of basil leaves on the drink and serve.

Cucumber Vodka Martini

Ingredients
  • 4 thick slices of cucumber
  • 1½ cups vodka
  • 5 fresh mint sprigs
  • 2-4 tablespoons sugar syrup
  • ¼ cup lemon juice
  • Ice cubes or crushed ice
Directions:
Place the cucumber slices, mint sprigs, vodka, lemon juice, and sugar syrup into a martini shaker and mix all the ingredients together. Top the drink with ice cubes or crushed ice (as per your preference) and shake again.
Once all the ingredients are thoroughly mixed, pour the drink into a glass, garnish it with a mint sprig or lemon rind, and serve chilled.
Your refreshing cucumber martini can be enjoyed right before dinner or on a warm evening. Make your martini look more attractive by adding creative garnishes of your own choice.
