Crab Stuffed Mushrooms

Making crab stuffed mushrooms are very easy and also absolutely tasty. You can serve them as appetizers in parties or even cook them as an early evening snack.
Crab stuffed mushrooms can be eaten with bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, or simply with some tasty sauces. The most popular recipe is when the mushrooms are made along with cream cheese. It is unique and leaves you wanting for more.

Appetizer

Ingredients
  • Large mushrooms, 1 lb.
  • Minced green onions, 3
  • Crab meat, 4 oz.
  • Butter,6 tbsp.
  • Chopped red bell pepper, 1
  • Bread crumbs, ½ cup
  • Parmesan cheese, 2 tbsp.
  • Salt and pepper
Directions
Before starting any recipe, always make sure you wash the mushrooms thoroughly and trim the end of their stems. In a sauce pan, melt the butter and brush it over the mushrooms. Spray a baking dish with some butter or grease and preheat the oven to about 350°F.
In the same sauce pan, melt some more butter and add the chopped mushroom stems along with the red bell pepper and onions. Cook until the vegetables are soft and add to the bread crumbs, crab meat, and seasonings.
Fill each mushroom with this stuffing and some Parmesan cheese. Bake it in the oven for 15 minutes till the caps are hot and tender. Serve it with some more cheese if desired.

Crab Spinach Stuffed Mushrooms

Ingredients
  • Olive oil, 2 tbsp.
  • Minced green onions, 2
  • Minced garlic, 2 cloves
  • Grated lemon,½ tsp.
  • Chopped baby spinach, 2 cups
  • Crab meat, ¾ cup
  • Cream cheese, 2 tbsp.
  • Fresh mushrooms, 20
  • Salt and ground pepper
Directions
Wash the mushrooms and chop the stems from the caps. Grease them with some melted butter and keep them aside, in a plate. In a sauce pan, add olive oil over a low flame and add minced onions and garlic. Let them turn slightly golden and then add the lemon, spinach and crab meat to cook on medium flame.
Once the stuffing is well cooked add the cream cheese, salt, and pepper to season it. Fill it in the mushroom caps and sprinkle some pepper over it. Bake it in a preheated oven at 350°F for 15 minutes and serve it hot with some extra cheese.

Crab Bacon Stuffed Mushrooms

Ingredients
  • Smoked bacon, 200 g.
  • Crab meat, 200 g.
  • Cheddar cheese, 150 g.
  • Mayonnaise, 3 tbsp.
  • Medium-sized mushrooms, 20
  • Salt and pepper
Directions
As mentioned above, wash and chop the mushroom stems as usual. In a sauce pan, take some water and heat the smoked bacon in it for 4 to 5 minutes. Drain it and rinse with cold water and dry it for some time. Chop the bacon finely and mix it to the crab meat in another sauce pan with some cheese and mayonnaise.
Add this mixture to the mushroom caps and bake it in the oven for 15 minutes at 350°F, till the caps turn tender and the cheese melts. Serve it hot with some parsley sprinkled over the top.
The nutrition is high in calorific value but has other major nutrients like potassium, carbohydrates, vitamins, and other minerals in a fairly good amount.
