Cold Crab Dip Recipe

Sauces or dips change the entire flavor of a dish. One of the most flavorsome and aromatic sauces is prepared from crab meat and is known as cold crab dip.

If you ask me what improves the taste of food, I would say, the dips. Be it fried potato, pieces of grilled chicken, crumb fried fish or any vegetarian snack, the taste greatly improves when dipped into a creamy or spicy sauce. If you are a big lover of seafood and looking for some dips, then you can easily get it from the nearest store.
But tell you what, the ones made at home taste much better than the sauces that you get in the market. Making it is not difficult. In this article we will learn how to prepare a cold crab dip recipe. Here are some simple recipes which you can easily make at home.

Crab Dip with Cream Cheese

The cream cheese crab sauce tastes very good. Here is a simple recipe which you can try at home. The amount of crab meat required depends upon the quantity you want to prepare.
  • Crab cans, 2
  • Red Pepper, as per taste
  • Cream Cheese, 16 oz.
  • Sour Cream, 8 oz.
  • Onion, (grated) 1
  • Paprika, as per taste
Method
  1. Mix the cream cheese and sour cream in a bowl. Make sure that both of them are soft, so that it becomes easier for you to mix, and the texture remains smooth.
  2. Add onion, pepper, and paprika. Mix well. Add the crab meat and leave it in the fridge for at least half an hour.
  3. Serve it cold.

Crab Dip with Mushrooms and Mayonnaise

  • Cream of Mushroom Soup, 2 cans
  • Onion, (diced) 2
  • Mayonnaise, 2 cups
  • Unflavored Knox Gelatin, 2 package
  • Celery, (diced) 2 cups
  • Crab Meat, 2 cans
  • Cream Cheese, 2 packages
  • Water, 4 tbsp.
Method
  1. Heat the mushroom soup, at the same time, add cheese and mix well with the ladle. Keep stirring till the whole cheese melts properly.
  2. Add the gelatin to this mixture and blend well. Remove the pot from the heat and keep it aside to cool.
  3. After it cools down, add onion, celery, mayonnaise and crab meat, and mix properly. Refrigerate for at least 2 to 3 hours before serving.

Crab Dip with Cocktail Sauce

  • Onion, (minced) 2
  • Crab Meat, 12 oz.
  • Hot Pepper Sauce, 2 tsp.
  • Cocktail Sauce, 24 oz.
  • Worcestershire Sauce, 2 tsp.
  • Cream Cheese, 16 oz.
  • Horseradish, (prepared) 1 tsp.
Method
  1. Mix everything in a large bowl (except for the cocktail sauce). Pour this mixture in a separate bowl, and add the cocktail sauce to it. Refrigerate it for 2 - 3 hours.
  2. Serve it cold.
