When it comes to cheeseburgers, many people would love to forget their diet plans. Here are some easy recipes that you can try at home.
A cheeseburger is basically a kind of a hamburger, in which cheese is the most important ingredient. Its nutrition value would depend upon the type of cheese used. Americans generally use American cheese, whereas some people use Cheddar, Mozzarella, or Blue cheese.
Have you ever wondered who really invented the cheeseburger? It is believed that Lionel C. Sternberger whipped up the recipe in the 1920s. This is rumored to have originated in the Northeastern part of the Los Angeles County. Today, there are many variations of it.
It can be served in various ways with several toppings such as tomatoes, lettuce, fried eggs, pickles, mushrooms, slices of bacon, etc. Here are some recipes that will help you try out its different versions at home.

Traditional Recipe

Ingredients
  • Worcestershire Sauce, 1 tsp.
  • Hot Pepper Sauce, ¼ tsp.
  • Beef, 2 lbs. (lean and ground)
  • Steak Sauce, 1 tbsp.
  • American / Cheddar Cheese, 1½ cups (shredded)
  • Onion, ½ cup (finely chopped)
  • Salt, 2 tsp.
  • Pepper, ½ tsp.
Preparation
First, you would need to combine beef along with Worcestershire sauce, steak sauce, hot sauce, and some amount of salt and pepper, to taste. Then, shape this mixture into small hamburger patties, which should be around 8 in number. Broil these patties for at least 6 minutes. Broil them 4 inches from heat.
Then, turn the side and broil it for more 6 minutes. Once done, you would need to combine the cheese and onion. Place these on the patties and broil it till the time the cheese starts melting. Serve this on the toasted hamburger buns along with tomato or cheese sauce.

Italian Style

Ingredients
  • Beef, 1 lb. (lean and ground)
  • Basil Leaf, ½ tsp. (crumbled)
  • Garlic Powder, ½ tsp.
  • Oregano Leaf, ¼ tsp.(crumbled)
  • Pepper, ⅛ tsp.
  • Onion, ¼ cup (chopped)
  • Salt, 1 tsp.
  • Cheddar Cheese, 6 slices
  • Sandwich Buns, 6 (split and buttered)
Preparation
Mix beef along with basil, onion, oregano, salt, garlic powder, and pepper. Mix this lightly and let it blend well. Once this mixture is ready, make around 6 patties of the same. Then, place it on the broiler pan. You would need to broil both sides until it gets cooked well. Then, gently set a slice of cheese on each patty and place this back on the broiler till the cheese melts slightly. Serve this with the buttered buns.
