A cast iron skillet is excellent for cooking steak and other meat preparations. These skillets are affordable, durable, and easy to use. The steak does not take too much time to cook and the open pan allows the herbs and sauces to blend well with the meat.

Steak and Mushrooms Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3/4 cup red wine of your choice
  • 2 tablespoonfulk - Butter
  • 2 tablespoonful - Minced onions of your preferred choice
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 8 ounces- Fresh mushrooms of your choice
  • Ground black pepper
  • 1/4 tablespoonfull - Dried Thyme leaves.
  • Olive oil
  • 2 tablespoonful - Flour and some to be kept separate for dusting the steak
  • Some beef broth
Method of Preparation
Step 1: Melt the butter on medium low heat and add the minced onions immediately.

Step 2: Add the mushrooms and saute until they are tender. Now add the garlic and saute the mix for 1 more minute.
Step 3: Pour the flour and cook for 2 minutes, and then immediately pour the wine as well as the beef broth. Add the thyme, black pepper, and salt and let the dish cook until it boils. Then simmer for 20 minutes till the dish is semi-dry.
Step 4: Add olive oil in a separate pan. Coat the steaks with flour and place it in the pan, also add salt, pepper, and chillies if needed. Cook the meat as per your taste.

Step 5: Pour the sauce over the cooked steak and let is get absorbed into the meat.

Garlic Marinade Rib Steak Recipe

Ingredients
  • 4 Rib eye steaks
  • 1 tablespoonful - Dry mustard powder or seed
  • 2 cloves of minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoonful - Black pepper
  • 1 ½ cups - Soy sauce
Method of Preparation
You will have to firstly heat the soy sauce and mix mashed garlic, mustard, and pepper to make a sauce. Now cook rib eye steak in a separate pan and add pepper, salt, and butter. Now, once the steak is cooked pour the sauce on the steak. Cover the dish and refrigerate for 3-4 hours. Once that is done, you can make a broth.

Flank Steak with Greens

Ingredients
  • 1 pound beef top flank or round steak
  • 1 ½ to 2 tablespoonful - Spicy Southwest or Cajun seasoning
  • Vegetable oil spray (Olive Oil)
  • 8-Medium red skinned potatoes cut in half
  • 2 cups minced onions
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 carrot cut in thin strips
  • 2 bunches of mustard greens, collard or turnip green stems to be shred and cooked.
Method of Preparation
First of all, lightly freeze the steak so that is will be easier to cut it into thin slices while it is still firm. Slice the flank steak across its grain into long strips of about 1/8-inches. Now coat the beef strips with spicy seasoning. Preheat a large skillet pan on medium-high heat and then spray vegetable oil on it.
You can even apply a light coat of olive oil. Add the steak and cook quickly while flipping the meat for at least 5 minutes. Once the steak is golden brown, you may reduce the heat to medium.
Now you can add the potatoes, onion, beef broth, and garlic. Cover and cook on medium heat for about 20 minutes and then add the carrot strips. Now add the greens and cook until carrots are tender.
