Chocolate Icing Recipe

Ingredients

♨ Confectioner's sugar: 2 pounds
♨ Butter/margarine at room temperature: 1 cup
♨ Milk: ½ cup
♨ Cocoa powder - ½ cup
♨ Vanilla: 2 teaspoons
Procedure

♨ Chocolate icing is a favorite with everyone. To prepare this cake icing, first beat the margarine/butter in a medium-sized bowl with the help of an electric mixer.
♨ Beat until it turns soft followed by the addition of vanilla.
♨ Then, add the confectioner's sugar to the margarine or butter and blend the mixture. Remember to add only one cup of sugar at a time.
♨ Next, add cocoa powder to this mixture and blend well. After blending the mixture, add milk and beat it for at least 2 minutes till it acquires a creamier texture.
♨ You can thicken the frosting by adding some more cocoa powder or sugar.

7-Minute Cake Icing Recipe

Ingredients

♨ Egg whites: 2 large
♨ Sugar: 1 cup
♨ Water: ¼ cup
♨ Light corn syrup: 1 teaspoon
♨ Cream of tartar: ¼ teaspoon
Procedure

♨ This easy icing can be prepared within 7 minutes and hence the name.
♨ First, set up a double boiler and then beat the egg whites in a container placed 2 inches above the boiling water.
♨ Beat the egg whites till it acquires a foamy texture.
♨ Then, add the remaining ingredients into the bowl and beat the mixture for 7 minutes. ♨ The temperature of the thermometer should reach almost 160°F at the end of 7 minutes.
♨ Then, remove the container from the boiler and continue beating the mixture for another 4 - 5 minutes. The icing is ready to be used!

Boiled Icing Recipe

Ingredients

♨ Egg whites: 2
♨ Sugar: 2 cups
♨ Water: ⅔ cup
♨ White corn syrup: 2 tablespoons
♨ Vanilla: 2 teaspoons

Procedure

♨ Boiled icing is known for its smooth texture and marshmallow-like flavor. It is also called an Italian meringue icing.
♨ To prepare it, first add water, sugar, and corn syrup in a medium-sized saucepan and stir the mixture to dissolve the sugar.
♨ Place this mixture over high heat, cover it, and let it cook till it begins to boil.
♨ Meanwhile, beat the egg whites at a high speed with the help of an electric mixer.
♨ While beating the egg whites, add about 6 tablespoons of the syrup mixture.
♨ Continue to cook the syrup mixture by placing a cover on it.
♨ After sometime, remove the cover and place the candy thermometer to check the temperature. Keep cooking till it attains a temperature of 240°F.
♨ Continue beating the egg whites and add the remaining syrup mixture to it.
♨ Finally, add the vanilla and beat the mixture again for about 4 minutes.
