Buttered noodles have become a popular item for quick dinners. They are easy to prepare and require very few ingredients. Moreover, you can add a variety of ingredients and make delicious buttered noodles according to your taste requirements. The calories in the noodles depend upon the ingredients used for preparing it.

Recipe #1: Using Peanut Butter

Ingredients
  • Brewed black tea - ½ cup
  • Cooked egg noodles - 2 pounds
  • Minced fresh ginger - ½ tablespoon
  • Minced jalapeño pepper - ½
  • Minced garlic cloves - 3
  • Natural peanut butter - 1 cup
  • Peanut oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - ½ teaspoon
  • Rice vinegar - 2 tablespoons
  • White sugar - 1½ teaspoons
  • Light soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1½ tablespoons
  • Fresh cilantro leaves - 1 cup
  • Peeled, seeded and julienned cucumber - 1 cup
Procedure
Take a mixing bowl and combine peanut oil, ginger, garlic, jalapeño pepper, brewed tea, peanut butter, sugar, salt, soy sauce, sesame oil and vinegar. Mix all the ingredients properly and then in another bowl combine egg noodles, cilantro and cucumber. Mix them with your hands and pour the peanut sauce over the egg noodles. Combine all the ingredients with your hand until the noodles are coated completely with the sauce.

Recipe #2: Using Chicken Broth

Ingredients
  • Chicken broth - ½ cup
  • Chopped green onions - ¼ cup
  • Chopped peanuts - ¼ cup
  • Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
  • Minced fresh ginger root - 1½ tablespoons
  • Peanut butter - 3 tablespoons
  • Honey - 1½ tablespoons
  • Hot chili paste (optional) - 2 teaspoons
  • Udon noodles - 8 ounces
  • Minced garlic cloves - 3
Procedure
To prepare this buttered noodle recipe, take a large pot and pour water into it. Bring the water to a boil and add udon noodles to it. Cook the noodles as given on the package, until they become tender. Then drain the excess water and keep the noodles aside.
Take a saucepan and add ginger, soy sauce, peanut butter, garlic, chicken broth, honey and chili paste. Place the saucepan over medium heat and cook the mixture until the peanut butter melts.
Once the butter has melted, add the cooked udon noodles and toss the noodles to coat thoroughly. Use chopped green onions and peanuts to garnish the buttered noodles.

Recipe #3: Using Meatballs

Ingredients
  • Condensed cream of celery soup - 2 cans
  • Sour cream - 1 container
  • Butter - ½ cup
  • Condensed French onion soup - 2 cans
  • Frozen Italian-style meatballs - 6 pounds
  • Uncooked egg noodles - 2 packages
Procedure
Take a large slow cooker and combine, French onion soup, cream of celery soup and sour cream. Then add the meatballs in this soup mixture and cook the meatballs on high heat for about 3 to 4 hours. In a large pot, pour water and add salt to it.
Then bring the water to a boil, add pasta and cook it for 8 to 10 minutes. Drain the excess water and transfer the cooked pasta in a large bowl. Combine butter with the cooked pasta and serve it with the cooked meatballs.
