You can make delicious waffles using basic ingredients available at home. Combined with the right syrup and toppings, they taste heavenly when eaten hot.
Waffles make a delightful and healthy breakfast that is enjoyed many people. They can be eaten with fruits or any other topping, and are hassle-free to make. Let us look at some recipes on how to make this palatable breakfast dish.

Bisquick Waffles

Ingredients

  • 2½ cups, Bisquick baking mix
  • 4, eggs
  • 3 teaspoons, vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon, vanilla extract
  • 1 cup, milk
  • 3-4 tablespoons, sugar

Cooking Instructions

Separate the egg whites from the yolks and keep them in two different bowls. Beat the egg whites till they become foamy. Take a large bowl and sift the baking mix into it. Now, add the vegetable oil, milk, egg yolks, sugar, and vanilla extract, to the baking mix. With the help of a whisk, beat all the ingredients till they combine, properly.
Pour the milk into the mixture at regular intervals, to get a smooth batter. Now, add the beaten egg whites to the batter, and combine. With the help of a cup, pour the batter into a preheated waffle iron. Bake it till it becomes light brown. Transfer the waffle to a plate. Serve hot with maple syrup or vanilla ice cream.

Whole-Wheat Waffles

Ingredients

  • 2 cups, whole-wheat flour
  • 2½ teaspoons, baking powder
  • 1 cup, milk
  • 2, eggs
  • 3-4 tablespoons, sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon, salt
  • 4 tablespoons, melted shortening

Cooking Instructions

Sift the flour and baking powder together in a large bowl. Mix the salt and sugar with the flour mixture. Keep it aside. Separate the egg whites from the yolks and keep them in two different bowls. Add the shortening and milk to the bowl with yolks, and beat well.
Now, pour the yolk mixture to the bowl containing the flour and baking powder; stir with a wooden spoon, so that no lumps are formed. Once a smooth batter is acquired, stir the egg whites into it. Using a cup, pour the batter into a heated waffle iron and cover it. Let it cook for 5 minutes till it turns golden-brown in color. Serve hot with fruits.

Belgian Waffle Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cups, all-purpose flour
  • 3 teaspoons, baking powder
  • 2½ cups, milk
  • 4, eggs
  • 5 tablespoons, unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1½ teaspoons, vanilla extract
  • 3-4 tablespoons, sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon, salt

Cooking Instructions

Take a large bowl and combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Set it aside. Separate the egg whites from the yolks and place them in two different bowls. Add the sugar to the egg yolks and whisk the mixture till it becomes pale yellow.
Combine the vanilla extract, milk, and melted butter, with the yolk mixture; blend them. Pour this combination into the flour mixture. Stir till a smooth batter is formed. Pour the egg whites into the batter and whisk it for a couple of minutes.
Use nonstick cooking spray to coat the waffle iron. Pour the batter into the grid and cover it. Let it cook for about 5 minutes till it turn golden-brown in color. Serve this mouth-watering Belgian waffle with honey, maple syrup, or whipped cream.
