Fish is packed with omega-3 fatty acids that maintains a healthy heart and active brain, along with reducing the risks of Alzheimer's disease. It can be cooked in a variety of ways; fried, baked, grilled, steamed, sautéed, and even poached.
Of all the methods, baking is the easiest option. You can experiment with a variety of ingredients in the recipes and create a wholesome meal.

Recipe 1

Ingredients
  • Chicken broth (1½ cups)
  • Long-grain rice (½ cup)
  • Paprika, a pinch
  • Cheddar cheese (shredded), ½ cup
  • Italian seasoning (¼ teaspoon)
  • Parmesan cheese (grated), 1 tablespoon
  • French-fried onions (divided), 1 (2.8 ounce) can
  • Fresh or frozen fish fillets, 1 pound
  • Garlic powder, ¼ teaspoon
  • Frozen cut broccoli (thawed and drained), 1 (10 ounce) package
Method

If you are using frozen fillets, thaw them before baking. Take a greased baking dish and combine―rice, broth, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning―in it. Cover the baking dish, and bake for at least 10 minutes at 375 °F.
Once done, add Parmesan cheese along with broccoli to the dish. Add the fish fillets on the top, and sprinkle some paprika. Then, cover it again, and bake for about 20 minutes. Once the fish is baked evenly, uncover the dish, and sprinkle the cheddar cheese on the top along with the onions. Place the dish back into the oven until the cheese melts slightly.

Recipe 2

Ingredients
  • Fresh fish fillets, 2 pounds
  • Butter (melted), 3 tablespoons
  • Paprika, 1 teaspoon
  • Skim milk, ½ cup
  • Bread crumbs, ¾ cup
Method

Wash the fillets and dry them with paper towels. Lightly grease a baking pan. Meanwhile, you need to preheat the oven to 425 °F. Dip the fillets into the skim milk and then dredge them with the breadcrumbs. Then, place them in the pan and pour the melted butter over them.
Sprinkle the paprika as well. Once done, place the pan in the oven and bake the fish uncovered for around 10 minutes. Add some lemon wedges while serving.

Recipe 3

Ingredients
  • Boned fish (2½ pounds)
  • Carrot (diced), 1
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • White wine, 1 cup
  • Olive oil, ¼ cup
  • Leek/onion (chopped), 2 tablespoons
  • Water or fish stock, ½ cup
  • Mushroom caps (halved), ½ cup
Method

Use some amount of butter to grease a baking pan. Meanwhile, wash the fish and place it in the pan. Heat the olive oil in a skillet, and cook the mushrooms in it. Add in the carrots and leek as well. After 5 minutes, add the water, wine, and seasoning to the pan. Cook the vegetables and let it simmer.
Once done, reserve some of the liquid, and spread the vegetables along with the remaining liquid over the fish. Cover the pan with a lid, and bake at 350 °F for 20 minutes. Pour the reserved boiled liquid over the fish when you are just about to serve the same. This will add a different flavor to your dish.
